Botox
Botox is a substance derived from botulinum toxin that works by preventing nerve impulses from reaching the muscle, causing the muscle to relax. Botox injections are one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in the world. Celebrities like Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Liz Hurley are rumoured to be keeping the wrinkles at bay this way.
In small doses, Botox works by paralysing the muscles of the face which are used in frowning and raising the eyebrows. When these muscles relax, the fine lines and wrinkles smooth out. Injections take effect about three to seven days after treatment and the effect lasts three or four months. With repeated treatments, atrophy or thinning of the muscles occurs, which produces longer lasting results. Botox may be unsuitable for use around the mouth as the muscles there are important for facial expressions and eating.
Acne Laser Treatment
Acne is a chronic inflammatory disease of the sebaceous hair follicles. Each follicle contains a tiny hair and multiple sebaceous glands. Laser treatment reduces the production of Sebum and kills the bacteria that cause spots in a similar but more intense way to sunlight. Unlike a lot of treatments that are available, the acne laser treatment was developed for people who suffer from only acne. The treatment was designed to reduce the scarring that is associated with acne and, in some cases, it eliminates it completely. It also treats acne that is uncontrollable.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is mechanical exfoliation that removes the uppermost layer of dead skin cells from the face, chest and hands. For best results, it is recommended you get a series of treatments and use high-tech anti-aging skin care products. It works by sending tiny crystals, which are similar to sand, blown onto the skin using a specially designed handpiece. These tiny crystals have microscopically rough surfaces. As these crystals pass over the skin, they gradually remove the outer layers of skin one layer at a time. The specially designed handpiece sucks the crystals and any debris up into a chamber and is discarded. It’s purpose is to rejuvenate the skin, Evening out skin texture, Cleaning out Comedones – reducing Acne and reducing clogged pores.
Hair Removal
The desire to remove excess or dark hair usually begins in adolescence and seems to continue until the day we die. Whether it is hair on the face, armpits, legs, bikini line, or other body parts, many women AND men are intent upon having the hair on their scalp be the only visible hair on their bodies. With the emphasis on smooth, hairless skin, it is interesting to note that excess hair.
Bleaching is actually not a hair removal method, but rather a way to make the hair less noticeable. This is especially useful for areas that already have thin but dark and therefore noticeable hair like the arms, face, or neck. Bleaching is performed by applying a chemical to the desired area, which removes the pigment from the hair.
